We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Today’s person of Black excellence is someone who is the first African Nova Scotian to be elected to Halifax city council in 16 years Lindell Smith

Monday will be Callback #1 students in the cafeteria from 2:45-4pm. Arrange your drives accordingly.

Art club today during first and second lunch in the library. New members are always welcome.

There will be a school badminton club. If you are interested in participating, please sign up on the school website’s athletic page. If you have any questions, please come see Mrs. Morrissey in room 230. The first practice will be Wednesday, February 7th from 2:50-4:00 pm in the gym. 

There is a VERY important Leadership meeting during second lunch today, Friday, in MRS. TARGETT’s room, room 207. We understand it is short notice, but please try to make it.

Leadership students will be selling Candy Grams all next week during first and second lunch. They are $1 each and will be delivered on February 14. Send a treat and support our own SHJH Food bank!
